- What are Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts?
-
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) are employer-sponsored, pre-tax accounts where employees can set aside funds to cover the cost of qualified medical expenses. Once you enroll in an HSA or FSA, you are able to contribute pre-tax dollars from your paychecks that can then be accessed throughout the year to pay for healthcare-related expenses that aren't covered by traditional insurance.
If you're not sure whether you have an FSA or HSA, please check with your employer or insurance provider.
- Can I use my Healthcare Savings Account (HSA) to pay for Bonafide products?
- Through our partnership with Truemed, you can take a brief health survey to determine your eligibility. Upon completion, a licensed provider will review to see if your order qualifies for HSA/FSA. If approved, you will receive a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) via email within 48 hours.
- What can I purchase with my HSA or FSA?
-
First and foremost, it's essential to check with your FSA/HSA provider to determine if there are limitations to what your HSA or FSA funds can cover, including Bonafide products. Once you've confirmed that your HSA or FSA does cover Bonafide products, you should be able to place an order for any of our products; we've taken all of the necessary steps on our end to ensure you can access the proof of payment needed to file a reimbursement claim.
- How long does it take to receive my Letter of Medical Necessity?
- Generally it takes 2-5 hours. In some cases, Truemed’s provider team will require additional time to issue a letter of medical necessity based on the needs associated with an individual qualification survey. If you aren’t seeing your letter in your inbox, check spam, then reach to Truemed at support@truemed.com
- I don’t have an HSA/FSA. Can I still benefit from Truemed?
- Unfortunately, Truemed’s services are for individuals who have HSA or FSA accounts (or plan to fund one during open enrollment). We encourage you to ask your employer about information on your HSA or FSA!
